Privacy Policy

WAPilot AI (“we”, “us”, “WAPilot”) provides a Chrome extension and hosted API that help business users work with conversations on WhatsApp Web. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

• Device identifier — a random ID stored in your browser extension to manage free trial usage without requiring sign-in.
• Account information — if you create an account: email address and password (stored hashed).
• Message text you submit to AI — when you click Translate, Summary, or Polish, the selected message text and recent conversation context are sent to our servers for processing.
• Usage data — counts of AI requests for billing and rate limits.
• Payment information — processed by third-party providers (e.g. Creem, Alipay). We do not store full card numbers.

What we do not do

• We do not read your WhatsApp messages in the background.
• We do not automatically send messages on your behalf.
• We do not permanently store full conversation history in the MVP service.

How we use data

• Provide AI translation, summarization, and reply polishing.
• Enforce trial and subscription limits.
• Process payments and support requests.
• Improve reliability and security of the service.

AI processing

Message content submitted for AI features may be processed by third-party AI providers (e.g. OpenAI). We send only the text needed for the feature you requested. Do not submit information you are not allowed to share under your policies or contracts.

Data retention

AI request content is processed to return a result and is not retained as a permanent conversation archive in the MVP. Account and billing records are kept as required for operations and legal compliance.

Third-party services

• WhatsApp Web — operated by Meta; subject to WhatsApp’s terms.
• AI providers — for language processing.
• Payment processors — for Pro subscriptions.

Your choices

• You choose when to use AI features — nothing runs until you click a button.
• You may request account deletion by contacting us.
• You can uninstall the extension at any time.
